Welcome to Year 4

Below is our most recent blog from Year 4.  This includes a summary of the last two weeks including any important information for the coming weeks (reminders etc).  These will be updated every other Friday.

It has been an action-packed couple of weeks in Year 4.

Last Friday, the children enjoyed a trip to the Rose Theatre to watch Wild the Musical. They were wowed by the costumes, music and performances of various ‘animals’ in the jungle.

The main focus has been the KS2 production of Bugsy Malone. The children have worked really hard on their dance and have been perfecting the intimidating boxer persona well! They worked carefully when painting the ‘Slugger’s Gym’ logo on their t-shirts. I am sure you will agree that they performed brilliantly.

In maths, the children have moved onto their new topic of position and direction. They have been getting to grips with understanding co-ordinates. The children designed their own islands and used co ordinates to show were different building could be found.

In history, the children completed their Ancient Egyptian learning by finding out what was inside the Great Pyramid.

Music lessons with Mr Early came to an end this week. The children have thoroughly enjoyed learning how to play the drums and various percussion instruments over the course of this year.
