As we move towards the end of the year, the children are still having wonderful new experiences at school! Starting with our new topic of dinosaurs, where they have been drawing dinosaurs, guided by online ‘Draw with Rob’, discussing similarities between different species, and even breaking through frozen eggs to hatch a baby dinosaur! We had a visit from a resident palaeontologist, Mary Anning (Miss Smith), who sang to the children all about differences between the types of dinosaurs. Father Martin invited the school to the church to listen to the church organ being played. It was so interesting to hear the different instruments the organ can mimic. What a treat to hear it played, especially Baby Shark! The children were accompanied by Year 6, and we were so proud of how sensibly they walked. In maths the children have been introduced to a new piece of equipment called a rekenrek, this enables them to count confidently using beads.
It was lovely to see so many parents at the recent open afternoon to share the children's work and view the amazing Olympic art work that the class worked so carefully on, throughout the week.
