We hope you all had a wonderful and relaxing Easter break, the children have come back with renewed vigour! The children returned to the news that the duckling eggs had arrived in Nursery and they have been watching the ‘duck cam’ as soon as there is news of a new hatchling on the way! It is a wonderful opportunity to see the beginning of new life.
The Polka Theatre trip to see The Three Billy Goats Gruff was so lovely. It was a colourful and fun production and we couldn't have been more proud of the children’s enjoyment and behaviour throughout the whole day. Well done Reception. The following day the children wrote a sentence about their trip, using their phonics to spell unknown words very effectively. Having already written about their Easter holidays on Monday, they were becoming proficient in remembering some of the rules of writing: capital letters, finger spaces, writing on the lines and a full stop.
Another wonderful experience for them has been the author visit, with a focus on the book Gorgeous George. This is a story about how we are all unique. The author read the story and the illustrator ‘signed’ the colours of the chameleon character. What a lovely interactive experience
