Welcome back to school for an exciting Spring 2 Half Term!
We have bulbs coming up in the planters and more sunny days and therefore fewer layers of clothing for outdoor learning! We hope you and your families had a relaxing Half Term holiday. The children have enjoyed sharing some of their adventures. The children have been writing short sentences about their experiences.
As we broke up, it was a wonderfully colourful and exciting date as The Chinese Lunar New Year brought the Year of the Dragon. Social skills and chopstick skills were practised in the restaurant and themed maths activities! The children learned how in Chinese culture, the house is prepared for the celebrations and they compared these traditions to the New Year in the UK. A beautiful dragon head was crafted which was used to perform a traditional dragon dance with Mrs Finch’s choreography help!
In RE the children sampled pancakes as they learned the significance of them in the Bible story of Shrove Tuesday. Later in PE, a skilful pancake race tested their balance! Tuesday was also Safer Internet Day, the children talked about how to ensure safe use when on a device at all times.
