We have had a fantastic start to Year Three and the children are settling in well!

We have written our own ‘magical box’ poems in English. With the focus on alliteration, the children have crafted some phenomenal poems about things they enjoy.

In Maths we are looking at Place Value, we are reviewing the value of each digit in a three-digit number. We have also been reviewing the recall of our 2, 5 and 10 times tables.

In History we have enjoyed becoming archaeologists, uncovering the secrets of the past buried within the sand trays.  The artefacts that we found were pictures of things from the Stone Age. Artefacts included; a Stone Age mammoth tooth and an antler hammer. We have also learnt about Stone Age clothing. Did you know that some clothing was made from stinging nettles? We also enjoyed going outside to make a human timeline, now we know where the Stone Age fits in relation to other time periods.

In Science, we have enjoyed looking at different types of rocks and describing their properties.
