We have been looking at the book Escape from Pompeii. We then wrote a setting description about a place that the Romans would go for leisure time for example; the bath house or the theatre, ensuring that we included expanded noun phrases, similes and metaphors and as a challenge pathetic fallacy. Here are some sentences the children crafted;
“All around I can see the red rose coloured seats”-Ines
“The waterfall was like touching a silky soft blanket”-Alice
In Science, we have been looking at what an animal needs in order to survive and what we can do to keep our bodies and minds healthy. We sorted different foods into their food groups, we spoke about; “dairy, meats, carbohydrates, protein, fats and fruits and vegetables”- Melanie
In RE, we have learnt about Christian Aid and the work that they do which included “helping some countries that have natural disasters and it helps everyone, as God loves everyone”-Judy
In Geography, the children have been looking at the location of different volcanoes across the world. After researching a volcano of choice, the children created their own fact file detailing the location and the last eruption and more. We have even considered why people would want to live near a volcano? “This lesson was fun as we noticed that there are so many and we got to look at different locations”-Ryan
One of the highlights was marching in the Roman Tortoise formation as seen in the picture.
