I hope you all had a wonderful half term.
It has been great to welcome the children back to school this week and dive straight in to our new science topic of ‘animals including humans’. This topic begins with looking at teeth before finding out the process of digestion. Over the course of week, the children have learned about the functions of teeth and have made leaflets to explain these functions. The most exciting part of the week was a visit by two real life dentists (and St Luke’s parents!) Martina and Federico. Thank you so much for coming! The children learned so much and were eager to ask all kinds of questions about looking after their teeth. It was interesting to find out enamel is the hardest and strongest material in the body and the sharks never run out of teeth!
We are continuing to learn about rainforests this half of term. The children discovered the similarities and differences between their life and the life of the Kayapo Tribe in the Amazon. You will be able to discover more about our learning during our class assembly on Wednesday 13th March. Lines needing to be learned will be coming home shortly.
