The Key Stage 2 production of ‘Joseph’ has been firmly at the front of our minds over the last few weeks. The children have worked incredibly hard to learn choreography for our class dance to the ‘Song of the Kings’ and are looking forward to showing everyone what they have created! We hope you enjoy/enjoyed our dance! As well as dancing, the children have also been designing and making. In DT, the children painted t-shirts and made headbands to bring their role of ancient Egyptians to life.
In keeping with the ancient Egyptian theme, in history the children learned about the Great Pyramid of Giza. They were amazed at how long the pyramid had been standing for and were able to use their prior knowledge to explain that it would’ve been built as a tomb for the Pharaoh Khufu.
‘Shape’ has been our most recent topic in maths. The children have reviewed the difference between acute, obtuse and right angles. As well as this, the children have thought about the properties of different 2D shapes and the difference between types of triangles.
In science, the children considered how animals are able to adapt to natural changes in their environments. After discussion about what was meant by a natural change, the children were tasked with designing their own living thing and explaining how it was able to adapt to natural changes.
It was wonderful to see so many parents at the Open Afternoon last week. The children enjoyed showcasing their work. Thank you for coming!
