One of the highlights of the Spring term was, of course, the KS1 production of The Litter Muncher. During the performance, the Year 1 children displayed their confidence, enthusiasm and wonderful singing skills. They even gathered up litter while waving cheerfully to their audience. Next year, they will definitely be ready to lead their own production.
This term the children started a new topic - Transport. As part of the topic, they went out and about and discovered history on their doorstep. This included walking round the corner to the site of the old aircraft factory in Sigrist Square; they spotted the propeller and pictures of the old planes which are displayed in the middle of square.
Later in the term, the children went to Brooklands Museum and saw a real Sopwith Camel aircraft which was made in the Kingston factory. At Brooklands, they also had the opportunity to go inside Concorde and a plane which once belonged to the Sultan of Oman which, they were amazed to see, has a bathroom with gold taps.
World Book Day turned out to be another successful event. Year 1 loved mixing with their teammates in Reception, Year 2 and Year 6 and taking part in special activities including a book quiz.
