We have had a busy few weeks in Year 2! We are so proud of all the children for completing their SATs. They worked so hard. Last week, we started our science experiments growing sunflower seeds. In one pot, we have our seed growing with all the conditions it needs to survive. The other pot is missing one condition- e.g. light. Over the next 7 weeks we will be recording our data to see what differences and similarities there are between the 2.
In RE we are continuing our topic of Judaism. We have made our very own Challah bread with Mrs Bamber. Challah bread is a plaited bread eaten to celebrate Shabbat. We had lots of fun mixing the dough, watching it rise and baking it in the oven.
On Monday, we had the Freshwater company come in for our Neil Armstrong workshop to kick start our topic of explorers. We became time explores and went back in time to the very beginning of Neil’s life. We learnt all about his life as a child in Ohio, how he was inspired to explore and get his pilot licence at the age of 16 and finally his mission into space.
