It is hard to believe that the spring term has now ended and the children are two thirds of the way through the academic year. New challenges have been met with perseverance and determination and we couldn’t be prouder of the achievements of Year 3 this term. The children kickstarted their science learning about magnets and forces with a trip to the Science Museum, where they explored the Wonder Lab and took part in the interactive workshop ‘Feel the Force’.
In line with their topic learning, the children got to learn about the Romans and their way of life during an all-day workshop in school. Amongst the activities were experiencing the excitement of the games arena, marching like Roman soldiers and getting to handle real Roman artefacts.
World Book Day was another highlight of this term and it was lovely to see the children embrace the theme of ‘identity’. The whole school activities included poetry, a quiz and art work based on Tom Percival’s ‘The Invisible’.
Year 3 have thoroughly enjoyed their swimming lessons this term and it is amazing how much progress each of them has made in such a short space of time. We look forward to welcoming them back in the summer term.
