This half of term has flown by!
In English, the children really enjoyed reading The Story of Tutankhamun by Patricia Cleaveland-Peck. This book lent itself to several styles of writing such as diary entries, newspaper articles and justifying opinion. Most recently, the children all wrote fantastic biographies about Howard Carter. To finish off this half of term, the children worked collaboratively to produce a poster about Ancient Egyptian Pharaohs and Queens.
During topic lessons, the children became fashion designers and designed their own Ancient Egyptian outfit with labels to show reasoning behind their choices. For example, only wealthy Egyptians had shoes!
Time has been our new topic in maths. The children have been telling the time to the minute and fives minutes as well as thinking about the length of hours, minutes and seconds.
In PE the children have been enjoying circuits and preparing for Sports Day. After half term we will be choreographing our dance for the upcoming production of Bugsy Malone.
The children have enjoyed using 2Logo on Purple Mash to input algorithms and create shapes.
After half term, the children will be completing the Multiplication Tables Check. Please take time to help your children work on their times tables throughout the holiday!
