School Priorities

Our Vision for Improvement

At St Luke’s, we are committed to continual improvement so that every child can flourish academically, socially, emotionally, and spiritually. Our School Improvement Plan (SIP) sets out the key priorities that will guide the work of leaders, staff, and governors over the next three years. The SIP includes our School Development Plan (SDP), alongside action plans for other key areas of school life, ensuring that improvement is strategic, cohesive, and focused on achieving the very best outcomes for all children.

The SIP helps us to focus on what matters most, ensuring that our time, resources, professional development, and decision-making are aligned to achieving the very best outcomes for all children.

Why Do We Have a School Improvement Plan?

Our School Improvement Plan provides a clear direction for the future of the school. It is informed by careful self-evaluation, pupil outcomes, stakeholder feedback, and our ambition for every member of the St Luke’s community.

The plan supports us in:

  • Raising standards in teaching and learning
  • Improving outcomes for all pupils
  • Supporting children’s wellbeing and personal development
  • Developing leadership across the school
  • Ensuring effective use of school resources
  • Strengthening partnerships with families and the wider community

How Children Benefit

Children are at the heart of everything we do. Through our improvement priorities, pupils benefit from:

  • High-quality teaching and learning
  • A broad and engaging curriculum
  • Strong pastoral care and support
  • Opportunities to develop confidence, character, and leadership
  • Preparation for the next stage of their education and life beyond primary school

Working in Partnership with Parents

We value the important partnership between home and school. By sharing our priorities openly, parents can understand the direction of the school, engage with our work, and support us in achieving the best possible outcomes for children.

Supporting Staff Development

Our staff play a vital role in delivering our vision. The School Improvement Plan helps ensure that all staff have a clear understanding of the school’s priorities and their role in achieving them. It also informs professional development, leadership opportunities, and performance management across the school.
