Wraparound Child Care

THE LOOKOUT

The Lookout is the St Luke's wraparound child care provision, available during term time and most holidays for parents with children in Reception to Year 6.

The Lookout is committed to providing a relaxed and caring environment where children continue to develop their intellectual, physical, social, creative and emotional selves before and after their school day.

We have enthusiastic and friendly staff, who are qualified and experienced in providing a high level of care. We maintain an adult to child ratio of one to eight, and our staff are all DBS checked and first aid trained. The staff are always available to listen to children and communicate daily with parents and carers.

In order that the club remains a happy and friendly environment, we promote good behaviour and ask that the parents support this policy. Children’s personal records are kept in a secure environment.

Breakfast Club

Our breakfast club begins at 7.30am and children will be able to enjoy a range of different cereals, fruits, muffins and toast. The activities on offer will be quieter in nature and include lego, arts and crafts and board games, enabling the children to start the day in a calm and focused manner.

There are two times available for parents to drop off children in the morning, at 7.30am and 8.00am. After breakfast club, Years 3 to 6 children walk round to class and Reception to Year 2 children are taken to their class by the Lookout staff.

After school club

We are very lucky to have the private use of the hall, which is safe, comfortable, and full of a good range of equipment. We also provide ample opportunity for quiet time and children have use of the Computing suite and library for homework. Outdoor play is always available in our large but secure playground.

Children will also enjoy a range of activities including arts and crafts, puzzles, toys and board games as well as having access to quieter spaces for reading, chatting with friends or doing homework. The children will be able to move freely between all the activities on offer.

In line with the St Luke’s Healthy Eating Policy we provide a varied and nutritious snack tea, prepared with vegetables crudités. Children are encouraged to drink often, and water is available at all times.

The After School Club operates from the end of the school until 5.50pm.
