This week, our Wednesday Worship was led by Gracie from the charity Show Racism the Red Card.
She spoke to the children about discrimination in all its forms and how they can be active in challenging it. To help illustrate the concept, Gracie used a powerful and engaging example: she asked all the left-handed children in Year 4 to do extra work for the teachers—simply because they were left-handed. This helped the pupils understand how unfair and illogical discrimination can be.
Following Worship, Gracie spent the morning working with our Year 6 pupils, exploring the issue of discrimination in greater depth. The children described the session as “thought-provoking” and “useful in helping us to get ready for Year 7 when we will have to meet lots of new people.”
We’re grateful to Gracie and Show Racism the Red Card for such an insightful and impactful visit. We look forward to continuing our partnership with the charity and will be proudly taking part in Wear Red Day on Friday 17th October 2025, raising awareness and funds to support their important work.
