Father Martin’s Final Worship

This week marked a special moment at St Luke’s as Father Martin led his final regular children’s worship before retiring next week.

Reflecting on his 27 years at St Luke’s, Father Martin shared a message centred on gratitude and joy. Drawing on the teachings of St Paul, he encouraged the children to appreciate the “here and now” and to notice the many everyday blessings around them – even something as simple as seeing swans swimming on the river.

He reminded us of the importance of taking time each day to thank God for the many gifts we have and to carry a spirit of thankfulness with us into the future.

It was a particularly poignant worship as we prepare to say a very special thank you to Father Martin for everything he has given to our school community over the past 27 years. Next Friday, we will celebrate his time at St Luke’s with a special worship involving the children, as we wish him well for his retirement.
