  • Understanding Pentecost with Insight

This week we were pleased to welcome Keren and Anne from Insight, who led a thoughtful and engaging act of worship focused on the Christian festival of Pentecost.

They began by capturing everyone’s attention with a lively challenge to “pin the fire” on the head of a disciple. This interactive activity brought plenty of smiles and excitement, with many children coming impressively close and showing excellent focus and enthusiasm.

From this engaging start, Keren and Anne guided us into the story of Pentecost. We reflected on how the disciples were filled with the Holy Spirit, often symbolised by flames resting above their heads. The children were encouraged to consider how this powerful moment marked a turning point, giving the disciples courage, confidence and the ability to share Jesus’ message across different nations and languages.

We then thought about what this means for us today. The children reflected thoughtfully on how the Holy Spirit can still guide and support us, helping us to show bravery, kindness and purpose in our daily lives.

It was a memorable and meaningful act of worship that helped bring the message of Pentecost to life in a way that was both accessible and inspiring for all.
