Our Choir Takes the Stage at the Rose Theatre
On Tuesday, our school choir, who are made up of children within Y4, 5 and 6, took to the stage to perform as part of this year’s Kingston Singing Festival which was held at the Rose Theatre.

Congratulations to all the children who took part so enthusiastically in our KS1 Sports Day this week. Despite the slightly damp conditions, the children approached every event with smiles, determination and fantastic sporting spirit.
Thank you to everyone who supported our recent e-waste collection. We were overwhelmed by the number of donations received and are incredibly grateful for the support of our school community.
Today we welcomed the Problem-Solving Company to St Luke's for an exciting day of mathematical thinking and teamwork from Reception through to Year 6. Throughout the day, children were challenged to use their critical thinking skills, resilience, collaboration and physical maths to tackle a range of engaging puzzles and problems.
On Tuesday, some children from Year 5 and 6 represented the school at the first ever Kingston Borough Athletics competition at Kingsmeadow organised by our own Mr Bates. The event is a round robin event where all the children take part in four events and score points based on distances and times.
This week, we were treated to a fantastic class assembly from Reception, who shared their learning from their minibeasts topic. The children were absolutely wonderful, delivering their lines with confidence and enthusiasm and showing just how much they have learned over the past few weeks.
We were pleased to welcome a Food Hygiene Inspector to school this week and are delighted to share that both our catering team and The LookOut Club were awarded the highest possible food hygiene rating of 5 stars.
Years 5 and 6 welcomed visitors from the award-winning Dialogue Society on Wednesday for a thought-provoking workshop about diversity and community.
Year 2 impressed us all with their class assembly this week – it was both inspiring and incredibly informative.
We were treated to a wonderful start to Wednesday with the Year 1 class assembly, which launched their exciting new topic on space.
This week we were pleased to welcome Keren and Anne from Insight, who led a thoughtful and engaging act of worship focused on the Christian festival of Pentecost.
On Saturday, 24 children from across Year 4, 5 and 6 performed the maypole dances that they have been practising over the last few months at school at the annual May Merrie celebration.
The children performed three dances including Barber's Pole, Spiders Web and the Plait. The children did so well!
