Below is our most recent blog from the nursery. This includes a summary of the two weeks including any important information for the coming weeks (reminders etc). These will be updated every other Friday.
Friday 15 MARCH
We've had a fun filled and busy few weeks in nursery! We enjoyed watching our cute visitors, ducklings Loveheart, Yellow, Elsa and Lala (as named by the children!) grow and change as each day passed. We learned about the life cycle of a duckling and how to take care of them once they hatch. The children all got a chance to hold and gently pet them and the ducklings even got to swim in the water tray! We were so sad to see them go but the children created some lovely artwork and writing for our special duckling book which you can still look at in the classroom.
We also celebrated World Book Day at the nursery and we were very impressed with the variety of costumes. From princesses to dragons to superheroes, we had so much fun dressing up (even the staff who were characters from Mr Men!) All the children got to take home a book token and sticker for their efforts.
This past week we've had a lot of rain but we haven't let that stop us enjoying the outside! We've splashed in puddles, used nets to scoop out letters and numbers and created a water slide for the cars to race down. Watching the rain fall on the windows has encouraged some great discussions with the children, with some describing it as “like a waterfall” and a "pretty fountain".
As this week draws to a close, the nursery team want to thank you all for attending parent's evening appointments and we hope you've had a good insight into your child's progress during the spring term.
