Friday 8 March
On the Friday before half term, Year 2 had the opportunity to try French food and practise their French language skills. Thank you to Mrs Mavale for transforming the classroom into a French café and providing a selection of tasty French food including goat’s cheese, baguettes and pastries. All children had an opportunity to order their food and take turns at waiting on the tables.
The Year 2 dragon theme is continuing to provide plenty of stimulation for writing including writing instructions to look after a pet dragon. The children thought of their own imaginative ideas and linked them to science by drawing on their knowledge of how to look after a pet.
On Thursday, Year 2 celebrated World Book Day by joining the Year 4 children in a shared reading session. At the end of the day, they had the privilege of listening to Violet’s mum reading excerpts of ‘Pippi Longstocking’ in Swedish and English. They also really enjoyed sampling some gingerbread from a homemade Hansel and Gretel gingerbread house which Max brought in to share with the class.
