Friday 14 September

The children in Year 2 have settled into their new class routines really successfully and it has been lovely getting to know them over the last few weeks. They have impressed us with their attitude to learning and their enthusiasm.

In science they have started their new topic, Living Things and their Habitats and they completed an investigation in the school playground using classification skills.

For Roald Dahl day, the children had lots of fun listening to the Dirty Beasts poems and creating a version of their own using exciting descriptive language. Some of the children extended their learning by including alliterative vocabulary and rhyme.

The children are looking forward to next week’s trip to the Museum of London. Our preparations have included a timeline and a comparison between London in 1666 and now.

Thank you for attending Meet the Teacher and helping on a weekly basis with guided reading activities. Please remember to sign up for the Maths Teach In on Thursday 11th October.
