Friday 7 June
This week Year 3 have continued to enjoy learning about Romans and have explored what it would be like to be a Roman soldier, the children have also begun carefully designing Roman shields! During history lessons Year 3 discussed the different symbols found on Roman shields.
In English the children have been reading ‘The Hodgeheg’ by Dick King Smith. Year 3 have developed their comprehension skills as well looking at telling stories from different perspectives.
In mathematics we have looked at Roman numerals and the children have explored numbers 1-12. Year 3 have also been applying their knowledge of Roman numerals to time and have worked extremely hard on converting the Roman analogue clock to digital time.
During art lessons we have begun preparing for arts week. The children have created fantastic pieces of art based on the countries chosen by their classteacher.
