Year 2 have been literally head over heels enjoying their gymnastics lesson on Wednesdays. They have learned how to perform a forward roll with a confident start and finish, always tucking their head to ensure it is safely done. Pair balancing is particularly popular with the children as they enjoy figuring out the best way to balance with their partner. Hoops were introduced this week for the children to build on their core strength through hoola hooping.
Over the last couple of weeks, the children have been working really hard on multiplication in maths. They have spent time building up fluency so they are equipped to solve problems and explain their reasoning. We are really impressed with the children’s ability to talk about how they worked through a problem and got their answer.
At this time of year, St Luke’s children are always busy constructing the Christmas hoops. This year our hoops will include a decoration made by each child to take home at the end of term. We are looking forward to our visit to Cornerstone church next Wednesday.
