This week in Year 4, we have been starting to prepare for our residential trip to Sayers Croft. We have given the children an overview of the  trip and also shown them where they will be staying. As the date of our residential gets closer, we will be sending out more information for parents. If you have any questions, please pop in to speak to your classteacher.

In English, we have been focusing on the use of pronouns and grammar. We have discussed the different uses of apostrophes, looking closely at contractions and how they demonstrate possession. It has been a very busy week in English as we have also found the time to look at poetic forms and discuss quatrains, rhyming couplets and Shakespearean sonnets!

In mathematics, Year 4 have been looking at number patterns to aid finding solutions for addition and subtraction.

Next week, the children will be taking part in an Anglo Saxon and Viking workshop. So that the children can immerse themselves fully in the learning, please send children into school with an outfit based on this period.
