By harnessing Sir David Attenborough’s love of nature, Year 6 have imitated and innovated on the content and language features typical of nature documentaries through their own non-chronological report writing. Next week, they will perform and record these using iMovie.
Minds have begun to be put to the test in maths as the class has been getting to grips with formal written methods of multiplication. They all agree that having a sound knowledge of times tables is the key to success and have built on their application of these related facts with growing confidence and determination – a promising prelude to division. A successful maths teach-in was experienced yesterday, with children sharing their learning and parents working collaboratively alongside. The presentation accompanying this session will be made available on the school website.
Earlier in the week, the children took a trip to the Museum of London, where they came face to face with the many animals that have made their mark on London’s society. This was an immersive audio-visual tour, led by its animals, through the history of London - from prehistory and the coming of the Romans right up to the present day.
