This term is all about the wonderful St Luke’s summer traditions! NUTTY day last week in recognition of the PFA Summer Fair, is always a good fun day! It was lovely to have so many of the Reception class come and say hello to their teachers on the Tombola stand!
The children were really excited by the Happy Puzzle Company’s visit for Maths Enrichment Day. In groups they were efficient at working and communicating together to problem solve, keen to move on to some more challenging Year 1 puzzles! Through this, many children showed some good examples of our many character virtues in practice; focus, perseverance and reflection. Open Afternoon this week enabled the children to showcase their work on displays and of course their wonderful Learning Journeys and independent writing books. They proudly went through their own books prior to the afternoon in order for the photographs to be annotated with their own observations.
The weather was kind to us for Tuesday’s Sports Day! The KS1 classes were able to use the new playground surface this year, which meant it was much less painful if there was a tumble!! All the children joined in enthusiastically with all events. They are all winners!
