There was chaos in the Year 2 classroom this week as the chairs decided to follow in the footsteps of the story ‘The day the crayons quit’ as they themselves quit! The children had nowhere to sit and were encouraged to write persuasive letters to encourage the chairs to come back. All the children wrote fantastic letters using what they have learnt in Year 2 and some even promised to not rock or fidget on their chair in the future.
Luckily, the chairs are now back in action and the children have somewhere to sit comfortably again. Throughout the week, Year 2 have been learning about events that happened during the Queen’s reign in 2002-2012. These included the 2012 London Olympics and the history of the mobile phone during this decade. It was great to see so many children wearing red, white and blue today and enjoying themselves at the Jubilee Tea Party.
Thank you again to all the parents who contributed food/drink. The Year 2 team would like to wish all the children and parents a relaxing half term and we look forward to welcoming the children back on Tuesday 7th June.
