What an exciting start to the autumn term Year 3 have had! They have settled into the new routines of key stage 2 and have already demonstrated a maturity in their attitudes and an eagerness to learn. In their first topic The Stone Age, the children have been comparing a timeline of events to their own lives to understand chronology. They created some brilliant timelines of the main events in their lives so far for homework, which they were keen to share with their classmates.

Ug, Boy Genius of the Stone Age is the book that the children are focussing on in English lessons this term and they are really enjoying it so far. They looked at the layout and features of instruction writing and created some Stone Age recipes, using adverbs and adjectives to improve their first drafts.

The children were very excited to start their swimming lessons this week and they all had a fantastic first lesson. They played games and demonstrated their abilities whilst behaving in an exemplary manner. Lessons will continue from next week onwards. Please if possible send your children into school with their swimming costumes underneath.
