The children asked why we still had the paper snowflakes in the classroom, to which we said that it could still snow…and it did!! There is nothing better for morale than a snowball fight and snowman building with family!
However, back in school there has been some unusual goings on. The ‘crime scene’ tape in the outdoor area cordoned off a terrible mess where something had happened to the Three Little Pigs’ house. The children were quick to look for clues to establish the facts. The detectives spotted scratch marks, grey fur and massive paw prints. By putting all these clues together, the children decided the Big Bad Wolf was the culprit. They had lots of questions to ask the wolf but he was nowhere to be seen. Wanted posters to catch him were placed around the school with a huge £100 000 reward! As the pigs hadn’t built very strong houses the children made some incredible homes of their own with our wooden blocks.
For maths the children enjoyed visiting the front garden to match leaves as they have been working with ‘numbers within 6,7,8’.
They are looking forward to making sandwiches for Granny’s in Little Red Riding Hood.
