It’s been an unusual start to the new school year but a huge WELL DONE to all the children (and parents) at home and in school for working very hard and adapting to the changes in routine so well.
The children who are at home have been producing some fabulous work – incredible writing, drawing and making. It has all been so good that it seems you should be in Year 1 already!
The children in school have been missing their friends who are at home, but have also been playing very well with each other. They have been kind and brilliant at sharing toys and balls in the playground.
In maths, they enjoyed using the balance scales and investigating capacity. Our new topic of ‘Fairy Tales’ started with excitement - the children turned the outside house into a Gingerbread house! It is now covered in lots of delicious sweets to eat and makes some of the teachers very hungry!
The children enjoyed both retelling the story of the Three Pigs using stick puppets and being ‘Problem Solvers’ for Mummy Pig this week. Some of the children chose to work independently whilst others worked collaboratively. They all built excellent houses so the three pigs would be safe from the wolf. We hope he doesn’t come back again…!
