With the KS1 production ‘The Bee Musical’ drawing closer all the children have begun designing and making parts of their costumes. The children have been very keen to contribute their own ideas and cannot wait to wear them next Tuesday and Wednesday for the dress rehearsal and filming of the show. The Year 2 staff would like to thank all the parents for providing their child’s costume and for allowing them to be redesigned with paint and glitter in true St Luke’s style!
Alongside many rehearsals, the children have been working hard in many other areas of the curriculum. In history, the children imagined they had lived through the Great Fire of London and noted down questions they would have liked to ask King Charles II once the fire was over.
Position and direction is the new topic in maths and the children have enjoyed challenging their friends to build cube towers and move from one place to another using positional language.
Finally, in English the children have compared fiction and non-fiction texts and written their own explanation text to explain how honey is made.
