Below is our most recent blog. This includes a summary of the last two weeks including any important information for the coming weeks (reminders etc).
The Year 5 children have been continuing with learning about The Titanic over the past couple of weeks by learning about how primary and secondary sources have helped us understand more about what happened to the Titanic. They have also started a joint English, Art and History piece of work by designing and creating a poster to advertise the Titanic by researching facts about the boat itself, adding watercolour and oil pastel and making it as appealing as possible to persuade people to buy tickets!
In English, we have continued our work on writing the next part of the book 'Cosmic'. Last week, Year 5 worked with their Nursery buddies to firstly explore a range of rockets in the playground and then make a rocket in partners. They worked fantastically with the younger children to create some excellent designs.
Our trip to the Science Museum on Friday, gave us some amazing insight life on the International Space Station and also helped us learn more about the relationship between Earth and The Sun and we followed that up in school this week by learning about day and night and the phases of the moon.
In maths, we have been continuing with arithmetic skills and completing our work on percentages in relation to fractions and decimals.
It has been lovely catching up with you all at Parent Consultations this week - thank you for coming in and meeting with us.
