Below is our most recent blog. This includes a summary of the last two weeks including any important information for the coming weeks (reminders etc).
What a wonderful first week we have had in Reception! Everybody has now joined us, and it has been lovely to welcome all the children and begin getting to know one another. We are so proud of how confidently everyone is settling into their new routines, exploring the classroom and making new friends.
The children have particularly enjoyed playing in our playhouse and discovering its wonderful new garden. They have been using their imaginations to create their own games and stories together. Outside, they have been busy exploring the environment and working collaboratively to build exciting obstacle courses using the large construction blocks. We have seen some fantastic balancing, climbing, problem-solving and teamwork!
At break times, the children have enjoyed meeting and playing with the children in Years 1 and 2. It has been lovely to see friendships beginning to form across the school.
We have also shared some lovely story times with Miss O’Dea, with the children listening carefully and enthusiastically joining in. Lunchtimes have been another highlight, as everyone has enjoyed trying the delicious food. The children have shown excellent manners by remembering to say “please” and “thank you,” proudly earning their special good manners stickers. What a brilliant start to Reception!
