Blog for Friday 4th July 2025
During Arts Week, our Nursery children explored the theme of our local area through creativity, imagination, and collaboration. We began the week studying our front doors—comparing shapes, colours, numbers, and designs. Inspired by what we observed, the children used paint sticks to create their own magical doors, complete with rainbows, cool windows, and even enchanted post boxes. Together, we designed a beautiful, pastel-coloured “Nursery front door” to celebrate our shared creativity.
On Wednesday, we enjoyed a nature walk to Canbury Gardens. The children were fascinated by the river wildlife and were thrilled to spot swans and geese gliding across the water. We ended our trip with games of Duck, Duck, Goose, and collected pine cones to turn into sparkling, magical swans back at Nursery.
Friday was a special day as our Year Five buddies joined us. In their pairs, the children created beautiful artwork together, exploring new techniques and drawing self-portraits of each other with great care.
Looking ahead, our focus turns to PSHE. We’ll be learning about relationships, managing behaviour, and how it feels to say goodbye and welcome new friends as we prepare for transitions and the exciting journey ahead.
