Blog for Friday 6th June 2025
Welcome back to our final term together for this academic year. It has been heartwarming listening to the children’s news this week, they have articulated their thoughts and experiences with confidence and enthusiasm and have made great progress with their oracy skills since the beginning of the year. As part of our PSHE learning this term, we will think about the many achievements and successes we have had over the year and will discuss things we are looking forward to as many of our children are moving on to Reception. Transition conversations have already started and some children even enjoyed exploring the Reception classroom this week.
On Tuesday, a special delivery arrived, five tiny caterpillars! How exciting, as our story focus at the moment is The Very Hungry Caterpillar by Eric Carle. The caterpillars have been munching and crunching all week long and we are impressed with how much bigger and longer they are already. There were lots of impressive mathematical measurement language as well as the children showing a great depth of understanding of world knowledge as they actively demonstrated the life cycle of a caterpillar and the transformation into a butterfly. We are hoping to have five butterflies emerge soon and if all is well, we look forward to releasing them after our Sports Day on Wednesday 18th June.
