Below is our most recent blog. This includes a summary of the last two weeks including any important information for the coming weeks (reminders etc).
It has been a time for reflection and being grateful, marking two special days in the winter calendar. The children have enjoyed being part of Remembrance Day ceremonies by planting the beautiful paper poppies they had made, in the sensory garden alongside the painted stone poppies they had made earlier in the week. After watching the CBeebies video for Remembrance, the children came together to talk about it and to create a prayer to say when placing their poppies, it was very moving. We also had the School Governors’ Morning so they joined in with observing the children in commemorating the Remembrance Day practices. Many of the governors visited us throughout the morning and we are very proud of the children for welcoming them and engaging in conversation with our visitors so warmly.
Friday was NSPCC Children in Need Day. All the children wore patterns and talked about how the money might help some other children in the country to enrich their lives. We are grateful for the money donated for this children’s charity, thank you.
This week we have moved onto ‘sounds’ work, listening to the initial sound for each given word, focussing on sound ‘s’.
