Class update from Friday 20^th March 2026:

These last two weeks in Reception have been full of imagination, creativity, and hands-on learning! Our classroom was transformed into a magical space as we explored the world of fairytales. Inspired by enchanting stories, the children created their very own magical potions. Using colourful ingredients and lots of creativity, everyone mixed a special drink and thought carefully about what powers it might have. We enjoyed watching them fizz and overflow! Some potions made people invisible, others helped you fly, and a few even turned you into animals.

After making our potions, we practised our writing skills by describing them. The children used simple adjectives to explain what their magical drinks looked like and what they could do. We saw fantastic words like “sparkly,” “shiny,” “sticky,” and “rainbow.” It was wonderful to see their confidence growing as they put their ideas into sentences.

We also became gardeners this week by planting our own beans, just like in the story of Jack and the Beanstalk. The children carefully planted their seeds and are excited to watch them grow into tall beanstalks. We talked about what plants need to grow and will be observing them closely over the next few weeks.

What a magical and busy week it has been!
