Below is our most recent blog. This includes a summary of the last two weeks including any important information for the coming weeks (reminders etc).
Reception have had a wonderfully busy and productive few weeks, showing great enthusiasm and determination in everything they’ve taken part in. The children have been working incredibly hard practising their Nativity performance, learning all the words, actions, and songs with increasing confidence. It has been lovely to see them growing in expression and teamwork as they prepare for the big performance.
In phonics, the class has made fantastic progress. We have now learned nearly all of our Phase 2 sounds, including the digraphs th, ng, and nk. The children are becoming much more confident in recognising these sounds in words and using them in their early reading and writing. Their listening skills and sound-blending abilities are improving every day.
In maths, the children have been continuing to explore the idea of knowing one more and one less than a number. They have enjoyed using practical equipment, number lines, and games to help deepen their understanding, and it’s been great to see them applying this knowledge in their independent work.
In RE, we have been getting creative by making our beautiful Christmas angels, which will hang from our hoops at the Christmas Fair. Made from lolly sticks and clear plastic, the angels look magical, and the children took great pride in designing and decorating them.
