Below is our most recent blog. This includes a summary of the last two weeks including any important information for the coming weeks (reminders etc).
Over the last couple of weeks much of our attention has been focused on Shine Star Shine. The children have been brilliant at picking up the lyrics and actions, learning their lines and listening to stage directions.
In maths, the children have been getting to grips with adding and subtracting with a one digit number and a two digit number. They have been finding 10 more and 10 less using dienes and using their number bonds to 10 knowledge to help them solve various number sentences. Next week, we will progress on to adding and subtracting two 2 digit numbers!
A highlight of last week was the Lego workshop run by Build to Learn. This workshop nicely tied in with our current science topic of living things and their habitats. Before this workshop, the children had learned about micro habitats and larger habitats. For the workshop, the children were given creative freedom to build an animal out of Lego and then build a habitat for it. It is fair to say, the children had a wonderful Friday afternoon with the most amount of Lego they’d ever seen. The level of Lego skill in this class is amazing!
