Below is our most recent blog. This includes a summary of the last two weeks including any important information for the coming weeks (reminders etc).
Once again, it has been a busy couple of weeks for the children in Year 2.
We celebrated World Book Day with a brilliant afternoon of bouncing! The children (and teachers!) absolutely loved their ‘Bounce for Books’ workshop. It was great fun to do a workout all together and try out our best dance moves whilst bouncing.
A highlight of last week was creating our own comic strips based on Traction Man by Mini Grey. The children enjoyed planning their own Traction Man outfit, sidekick and adventures. The children were really engaged with the process of writing and illustrating their own stories. They even designed a front cover for their books. Look out for a brand new Traction Man adventure coming home soon!
In art, we have been exploring colours. The children learned the primary colours and created a piece of artwork inspired by Piet Mondrian. Last week, the children were amazed to see that two primary colours made a secondary colour.
Multiplying and dividing by 2 has been our focus in maths. The children have made links between the 2 times table and odd and even numbers as well as doubling and halving.
