Below is our most recent blog. This includes a summary of the last two weeks including any important information for the coming weeks (reminders etc).
Another week filled with learning and fun in Year 4 and we can’t quite believe that September is coming to an end - what a fantastic first month it has been!
In English, the children wrote diary entries in role of townspeople from Arthur and the Golden Rope. They recounted the events of a giant wolf ransacking the town and putting out the great fire. Will Arthur be able to save the town and its people?
In maths, the children have been putting their place value knowledge to use by placing and estimating numbers on a number line to 10,000. There have been some great discussions in the classroom in RE lessons. They compared the bible stories of Jonah and the Whale and Daniel and the Lion’s Den, paying particular attention to the different ways in which the two characters reacted to God’s command.
Science lessons have continued to put a spark in the children where they have been learning about electricity. They used a range of objects made from various materials to investigate: which materials are conductors and which are insulators? But perhaps the most exciting part of the week was the children starting their long-awaited ukulele lessons!
