Below is our most recent blog. This includes a summary of the last two weeks including any important information for the coming weeks (reminders etc).
It has been lovely to see how well the children have returned to school after the Easter break!
We have started the term with an invasion of flying frogs as our book for the first part of this half term is Tuesday written by David Weisner. It is a picture book where strange things happen on a Tuesday each week! We started the book by writing the text for each picture and then putting it altogether as our version of the book. As the book has a humour element, we will be working on using punctuation to add humour into our writing over the next few lessons.
We started our Science topic by looking at life cycles of a mammals and are dispelling the myth that mammals all give birth to live young by learning about kangaroos and the platypus.
We will continue with this learning about mammals on our trip to Holly Lodge in Richmond Park on Monday.
In maths, we have been learning about statistics - how to draw and read and interpret line graphs and then looking at ways to extract data from a range of different tables including timetables. The children really enjoyed the maths lessons this week as skills that they will use for coming years!
In PE, we have started practising for Sports Day in June by doing the sprints and relay and then beginning to develop our throwing skills for the javelin!
