Below is our most recent blog. This includes a summary of the last two weeks including any important information for the coming weeks (reminders etc).
It has been a warm couple of weeks and the children have managed really well in the heat especially last week!
Last week was also Design and Technology week where the children were designing their dream house in groups. They started by individually designing their dream house, and joining forces with others with similar ideas to create a group design. This design was then drawn onto larger boards and decorated using pencil crayons and felt-tip pens. You will be able to see the final designs at the building words on Acre Road!
In English, we have been continuing with our book 'The Journey' and looking at the feelings of the main characters as they have left their home, travelled a long way in cars, vans and on bikes and now reflecting on their travels as they stay overnight in the forest. It has been really impressive to see how thoughtful the children have been when trying to put themselves in the characters positions. We have been using drama and thought bubbles as a way of the children being able to express themselves as the characters.
In Maths, we have been continuing with negative numbers and also revisiting the four operations to ensure that we are being accurate each time we add, subtract, multiply and divide.
Finally, we have also been hard at work learning and practising our circus dance for the upcoming production of Mary Poppins and the children have done really with this in the heat! Thank you for having the costumes in school promptly for this.
