It has been lovely to welcome the children back to school this week.
The children enjoyed rounding off last term by using the gymnastics equipment in the hall. They enjoyed showing off their climbing skills and putting their strength to the test!
In English this half of term the focus is on biography writing. The children were introduced to what a biography is and the format of one. They were intrigued to read Malala's Magic Pencil by Malala Yousafzai. This inspiring story will be used throughout the coming weeks to support the children in their biography writing.
We continue with history this half of term with the topic of 'Explorers'. This week, the children thought about the question 'what makes a significant person?' and the qualities that they portray. Answers included qualities such as giving money to charity and discovering something new which makes a difference to the world.
In maths this week, the children have been comparing mass and deciding whether an object is lighter or heavier. As well as this, they have been introduced to measuring in grams and kilograms.
Next week, our swimming lessons begin. Please refer back to messages sent previously with further information.
