Below is our most recent blog. This includes a summary of the last two weeks including any important information for the coming weeks (reminders etc).
The Year 2 team have been so impressed with how the children have settled into the rules and routines of their new class. They have been a pleasure to have in the classroom!
Last week, the children created a set of rules that they want to follow throughout the new academic year. One of the children suggested, “use kind and respectful words so everyone is happy”. What a lovely idea!
In English, we have started work on the story of Rapunzel by Bethan Woollvin. The children have enjoyed thinking about her thoughts and feelings and also have used adjectives to describe the witch in the story.
Place Value is our first topic in maths this year. The children have been representing two digit numbers in a variety of ways. They have been identifying how many tens and ones a number has using dienes and place value charts.
In science, we have begun our topic of ‘animals including humans’. The children have identified that some baby animals look similar to their adult and others look different. For example, the children noticed a fawn does not have antlers but a deer does.
Well done Year 2!
