Class update from Friday 9th January 2026:

Happy New Year we hope you've had a wonderful festive break. We welcome  new additions to some of our families, we are looking forward to meeting the new babies. We also welcome our new friends into the St Luke's Nursery and community. The children are settling so well, and enjoying making new friends.

We are starting the new term with the story of Stick Man, focussing on the winter weather and rhyming words. The weather has provided us with lots of relatable opportunities to explore the frost, ice and 10 minutes of actual snow!

Inside, the Calm Corner has been created and subsequently introduced to the children as a means of developing their self regulation skills. The children have listened to The Colour Monster story to identify the colours which associate with various feelings. They have learned that it is ok to experience all types of feelings, and we try to use strategies to help us feel ‘green’ again, (happy and calm). The finger tracing has been a useful tool for them to visit at times to regulate their emotions.

Library books will be sent out on Fridays for you to share together to be returned the following Friday for a new book. Again, huge thanks for our wonderful Christmas gifts!
