Below is our most recent blog. This includes a summary of the last two weeks including any important information for the coming weeks (reminders etc).
This week in Reception we have been very busy with lots of exciting learning!
In English we have been focusing on the story of Cinderella. The children had great fun thinking about what they would wish for if they had a magical wish. Some children wished to be famous football players, others wished for lots of chocolate, and some had many other imaginative ideas! We also wrote about magic potions and described what our special magic drink would do. To make our learning even more exciting, we created our own fizzing potions using lots of different colours. The children loved watching their potions bubble and fizz! Also, we loved our world book day sponsored bounce! Luckily, we didn't wear our incredible top hats whilst on the trampolines, or they would have gone flying!
In Maths we have been learning about length and height. The class worked together to order themselves by height, from the tallest to the smallest. It was a great way to help us understand and compare how tall we are.
In RE we have been learning about Easter and the period of Lent. We talked about the story of Jesus in the desert and how he resisted temptation. The children then thought about something they could try to resist themselves and drew these on white flags.
