Below is our most recent blog. This includes a summary of the last two weeks including any important information for the coming weeks (reminders etc).
It may be nearing the end of the school year but the learning in Year 2 hasn't slowed down!
Firstly, a big well done to all the Year 2 children for coping so well with the recent heat waves. We are lucky enough to have AC but the children all had caps, water and played sensibly outside.
In English, the children have been using their knowledge of African Savannah animals to create Kennings poems. A Kennings poem compromises of a noun and verb phrases e.g prey-hunter. Firstly, the children worked in groups to create a Kennings poem about a lion. This week, the children had freedom to choose their own animal and write a Kennings poem about it. The class had fun listening to each other's poems and working out what animal they were written about!
Swimming lessons came to an end this week...until Year 3! The children should be so proud of themselves. Their swimming abilities have all improved and they got quicker at changing each week. I know they are looking forward to swimming next year already! Thank you to all the parent helpers who gave up their time to accompany us this term. It is much appreciated!
A highlight of the last couple of weeks has been finishing off our telephone box sculptures in art lessons. The children have worked on adding decorative doors and crowns to each of the four sides. They are looking great!
