Below is our most recent blog. This includes a summary of the last two weeks including any important information for the coming weeks (reminders etc).
Year 3 had a busy final week before half term. The children thoroughly enjoyed performing their class assembly and were proud to share their learning with everyone. They spoke clearly and confidently and it was wonderful to see their hard work come together in their performance.
An exciting new topic on forces and magnetism is the Science focus. The children have been exploring push and pull forces through identifying how different objects move and describing the forces acting upon them. They are already asking scientific questions and making connections in class discussions.
The History learning continues to investigate the impact of Romans in Britain. The class have been discussing how Roman inventions, roads and laws still influence our lives today and have begun evaluating just how significant the Roman legacy has been.
In Art, the children have made comparisons between the work of two modern mosaic artists – Emma Biggs and Sonia King. This work helped to reveal the key elements of art that are the focus of mosaics – colour, line and shape to create patterns. The children have been planning their own Roman-inspired mosaic designs. They have carefully considered pattern and colour, even using digital tools to arrange their tesserae.
