Class update from Friday 6th March 2026:

It has been a fun-filled and action-packed week in Year 4! To mark the start of British Science Week, the children enjoyed a whole-school assembly on Tuesday led by a visiting science expert. A range of exciting experiments were demonstrated, with some children (and staff members!) invited to help at the front. The children were fascinated and it was a fantastic way to start the day. Later in the day, Year 4 took part in their own science workshop, which certainly lived up to expectations. The session was hands-on and engaging, encouraging the children to ask lots of questions - perfectly matching this year’s theme of curiosity.

Another highlight was World Book Day, which is always a special occasion but felt even more memorable this year. It was wonderful to see the children arrive wearing their creative hats, showing great imagination and enthusiasm. The whole school used the book Dragon Dave the Not So Brave, a funny picture book about daring to be different, as inspiration for activities. To add to the excitement, the children also enjoyed a lively bouncing workshop, spending 30 energetic minutes on mini trampolines with an instructor. The session ended with everyone dancing the Macarena, much trickier while bouncing!
