This week, we were treated to a thought-provoking assembly led by INSIGHT, all about the importance of trust.
The session began with a simple egg—children were asked to think about what it could be used for and whether it was strong. To bring the idea of trust to life, Mrs Allan bravely stepped up to the stage, where she was blindfolded while an egg was held over her head. There were gasps and giggles across the hall—but to everyone's relief, the egg turned out to be made of rubber!
The team then shared the Bible story of Jonah, a man chosen by God to deliver an important message. When Jonah tried to run away instead of trusting God’s plan, he found himself in a storm and was swallowed by a giant fish. After praying and saying sorry, Jonah was given a second chance—and this time, he followed God's instructions.
Through this exciting and meaningful assembly, the children learned that trusting others—and trusting in something bigger—can sometimes be scary, but it’s often the first step towards doing the right thing.
