Victory in Netball Final

On Tuesday afternoon, a squad of 7 players from our Netball Club set off for Malden Manor School for the much anticipated final of the Kingston Schools Netball District Cup against Latchmere School.

The match was four quarters of 7 minutes, with the players rotating after each quarter according to Bee Netball Rules.

We started strongly by scoring within the first few minutes and that set the tone for the rest of the match. In the second quarter we continued to play with the same control and determination and scored 3 goals, to give us a clear 4-0 lead at half time. We then scored one goal in each of the third and fourth quarters to win the game, and the District Cup, 6-0!

The way in which the squad played was incredibly mature and a pleasure to watch. Their passing, interception and shooting was precise and controlled; the defence was solid and difficult to break through. Mrs Corlett and Miss Donnelly are incredibly proud of the squad in the way that they have listened, applied techniques and really upped their game. It was amazing to see such incredible netball being played by St Luke’s, and what a fantastic achievement!

Thank you to all parents who have been able to come along and watch the matches and for all their support throughout the year. Our next game is against Alexandra School. Watch this space ………..
