On Saturday, 15 children from across Years 4, 5 and 6 represented St Luke's at the TCS Mini Marathon.
The course was 2.6km and it followed the last part of the actual London Marathon course - past Buckingham Palace and down the Mall to the finish line.
The children (and parents!) were excited leaving Kingston and ready to take on such a well known course. When we arrived in London, the atmosphere was electric with many children from all over the country arriving in London to take part. We were in Wave 13 and after a short warm-up we were off! The children (and parents) ran so well around the course, keeping a steady pace and overtaking children older than them. Everyone completed the course in under 17 minutes - a real achievement and all received an impressive medal and additional money for the school.
It was a fantastic event and wonderful to see the excellent effort of all those who took part and thank you to all the parents and siblings who came to cheer on the children.
