Years 5 and 6 welcomed visitors from the award-winning Dialogue Society on Wednesday for a thought-provoking workshop about diversity and community.
Using the humble chickpea as a metaphor, the children explored the different choices societies can make. They considered how communities can become bland and monocultural, how people can live side by side but remain separate, or how embracing different flavours, cultures and perspectives can create something far richer and stronger than the sum of its parts.
The session encouraged thoughtful discussion and helped the children reflect on the importance of inclusion, understanding and celebrating difference within our communities.
