A Wonderful Day at the May Merrie

On Saturday, 24 children from across Year 4, 5 and 6 performed the maypole dances that they have been practising over the last few months at school at the annual May Merrie celebration.

The children performed three dances including Barber's Pole, Spiders Web and the Plait. The children did so well!

They listened really well to music and most importantly, they worked together to ensure that the ribbons wrapped effectively around the pole. A huge well done in the hot weather - the hard work really paid off!

A huge thank you as well to all the parents who came to watch, but also made sure that your children were at the right place at the right time on Saturday - it is much appreciated!

It was a wonderful event and it was lovely to see the children dance with enthusiasm, technique and great energy - something we have seen all through the practices - they should be really proud of themselves.
