On Tuesday morning, we were very lucky to have a teacher from Malden Manor Primary School come over and help some of the children across Year 6,5 and 4 to learn Maypole dancing.
Across the morning, the children learnt three dances including Spider's Web, The Barber's Pole and The Plait with the children working together to ensure they understood the movements and the timing. The teacher was so impressed with the children and said she was amazed at how quickly they learnt the dances.
They will continue to practise over the coming months ready for their performances later this year at the May Merrie in association with St Luke's Church in May and at the Kingston Country Dancing festival in June.
