We hope you had a lovely Bank Holiday, with family and friends. Last week ended with ladybirds and this week we are looking at the slugs, snails and worms that are certainly present in our planters helping to churn the soil- and eat our flowers! The children have thoroughly enjoyed spotting them amongst the leaves and watching them move. The live caterpillar eggs arrived and hatched already. The children understand how fragile they are and are careful around their habitat, keen to have all 5 butterflies emerge.
In Maths, the children are using a variety of manipulatives to check doubles, recognise that 2 equal parts make a whole, and now moving onto differences in grouped objects. The children have been practising for Sports Day, with different equipment, therefore learning new skills. We have some amazing sports people in our class! The phonics assessment helps us to see progress in reading. The children's reading groups will be reviewed and you may see this reflected in the books they bring home. Please continue to read with your child and as always thank you for your support.
